Oyo State Police Arrest Four in Farmer’s Abduction Case
The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four individuals in connection with the recent abduction of a local farmer.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the command, Olayinka Ayanlade, the suspects were apprehended at various times and locations across the state. Ayanlade’s announcement was made in a statement released on Thursday evening.
The victim, identified as 42-year-old Alhaji Quadri Oloriegbẹ, was reportedly kidnapped from Olopoto Village near Abugbudu in Irawọ town. Following a series of police operations, the victim was released after spending several days in captivity.
Ayanlade emphasized that police efforts intensified following the farmer’s release, leading to the additional arrests. The command is currently holding all four suspects in custody.
In the statement, Ayanlade indicated that a significant breakthrough occurred when police arrested a suspect named Umaru Bokolo, who had been linked to the crime through reliable intelligence and community cooperation. Further investigations included coordinated searches in Irawọ town and surrounding areas, resulting in the apprehension of three more suspects: Zada Abubakar, Husein Rabiu, and Abubakar Mohammed.
The police reaffirmed their commitment to apprehending all individuals connected to the case to ensure justice is served.
