U-20 WWCQ: Aduku targets Falconets double against Malawi

Falconets Set for Crucial Qualifying Match Against Malawi
The Falconets’ head coach, Moses Aduku, has announced that his team is determined to secure a victory against Malawi in the second leg of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture.
In the first leg, Nigeria defeated the Young Scorchers 2-0. As they prepare for the return match, scheduled for Saturday at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, Malawi, the home team is under pressure to overcome the deficit. The Young Scorchers will need to score three goals without conceding in order to eliminate the Falconets from the tournament.
Aduku, who has successfully guided the team to victories against Rwanda and Senegal in earlier rounds of qualifying, emphasized an attacking strategy for the upcoming match. “We will not go defensive; rather, we will take the game to them to see if we can get a goal, and I know my girls can do that,” he stated.
He also acknowledged that Malawi is likely to adopt an aggressive stance. “We know the opponent will not sit back; they will come out to play,” Aduku added.
The Falconets have a strong track record, having qualified for every edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
