Atletico Madrid is reportedly exploring potential replacements for Julian Alvarez amid the Argentina international’s desire to depart the club before the closing of the summer transfer window.
Alvarez has expressed to Atletico Madrid his intention to leave the LaLiga team for a transfer to Barcelona. However, the club has categorically ruled out the possibility of selling the former Manchester City forward to their rivals.
While Atletico Madrid remains open to offers from Arsenal or other clubs, they have stated they will not entertain a move to Barcelona.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is interested in acquiring Alvarez to strengthen his attacking lineup after unsuccessful attempts to secure players Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Junior.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Atletico Madrid is preparing for the potential departure of Alvarez and has identified two possible replacements: Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus and Nottingham Forest’s Igor Jesus.
