Nigerian Army and NDLEA Arrest Six Suspected Drug Peddlers in Katsina State

KATSINA, Nigeria — The Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), arrested six individuals suspected of drug trafficking during a raid in Katsina State.

The operation took place on May 9, 2026, at around 5:30 p.m. The 17 Brigade, based at the Forward Operating Base in Malumfashi, conducted the raid in the Kauyan Dawo community, following intelligence reports regarding illicit drug activities in the area.

During the operation, law enforcement officials seized 82.5 grams of cannabis sativa, 15.7 grams of Exol-5, and 1.8 grams of D5.

Military authorities confirmed that the six suspects, along with the recovered substances, have been handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and potential prosecution.

This operation is part of ongoing efforts by the Nigerian Army and NDLEA to combat drug abuse and related criminal activities within communities in Katsina State.
