Police arrest suspected kidnapper, recovers exhibits in Oyo

Oyo State Police Arrest Suspected Kidnapper
The Oyo State Police Command announced on Thursday that operatives have apprehended a suspected kidnapper following a recent operation.
In a statement signed by Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade, authorities confirmed the arrest of Mohammad Goni, who was taken into custody on Wednesday. The apprehension came as a result of credible information provided by members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN).
Ayanlade noted that Goni is implicated in a recent kidnapping incident. The police are actively working to locate his accomplices, who remain at large.
During the operation, the suspects fled into a nearby forest, reportedly sustaining varying degrees of gunshot injuries. Another suspect, identified as Mohammed Sanni, was also detained. Authorities recovered a Hajoue motorcycle, registration number TUT 824 TY, believed to have been used in the gang’s activities, as well as a small mobile phone, a pair of slippers, and a cap—all of which are undergoing forensic analysis.
The statement indicated that Goni is currently in custody and has provided useful information regarding his involvement in the criminal syndicate.
