Nollywood actress and producer Sandra Okunzuwa recently opened up about a personal experience related to her previous relationship while appearing on the BTS Reality podcast.
Okunzuwa recounted how her ex-boyfriend ended their relationship after he received a video clip featuring her kissing a male colleague in a film. She described her ex’s reaction as arising from insecurity, particularly regarding the nature of on-screen portrayals.
“In those filming moments, there are about 20 crew members present, and the atmosphere is hardly conducive to romance,” Okunzuwa explained. “Directors issue instructions, and conditions, such as an uncooled set, make it difficult to feel any genuine emotion. On-screen kisses are not enjoyable.”
She continued to emphasize the disconnect between acting and personal feelings, stating that the intimate scenes often affect real-life relationships due to jealousy from partners.
“I lost a relationship because my ex-boyfriend saw a scene where I kissed someone. His response was understandable, but it highlights the challenges some people face dating actors,” Okunzuwa said.
The actress called for public awareness regarding the separation of actors’ roles and their true selves, stressing the importance of maintaining boundaries between professional and personal lives.
