Nigerian Singer Davido Criticizes Minister Gboyega Oyetola Over Alleged Plan
In a public statement on X early Tuesday, Nigerian singer Davido called out Gboyega Oyetola, the current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, regarding an unspecified plan he described as “very embarrassing.”
Davido, who tagged Oyetola—a former governor of Osun State—as “the most desperate politician,” asserted that the minister’s plan had already failed. He wrote, “Oyetola, your plan no go work.”
The details of the alleged plan were not disclosed by the singer. However, this criticism comes amid heightened political tensions in Osun State as the region prepares for the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
Two weeks prior to this announcement, Davido declared a two-month suspension of his music career to focus on campaigning for the re-election of his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, the current governor of Osun State.
