I don’t use my tongue during onscreen kissing – Actress Soso

Nollywood Actress Addresses Onscreen Kissing Techniques
Nollywood actress Sophia Chisom, widely known as Soso, emphasized that onscreen kisses should be viewed as professional rather than pleasurable. Her comments follow remarks from fellow actors who expressed dissatisfaction with their experiences performing kissing scenes in films.
In a recent interview with TVC, Soso acknowledged the challenges of delivering a convincing kiss on camera. She revealed her personal technique, stating that she refrains from using her tongue during such scenes. “I close my teeth and only use my lips when filming. I’m very conscious about who I exchange saliva with,” she explained.
Soso highlighted the importance of professionalism in acting, asserting that onscreen kisses do not necessarily need to be enjoyable. “It’s just the lips. It’s an act, and we have to make it believable,” she said. Soso further remarked, “When I hear colleagues claim they didn’t have a good kiss, it’s strange. This is a job, and you are not supposed to seek pleasure from it.”
Her comments come in light of recent statements from several Nollywood actors, including Saga Adeolu, who suggested that onscreen kisses are often devoid of enjoyment, reiterating that they have yet to experience a satisfactory kiss within the industry.
