Police arrest two suspected car thieves, recover vehicles in Sokoto

The Sokoto State Police Command has smashed a car theft syndicate and arrested two suspects, Austin Anthony, 44, and Mansur Abubakar, 32.

 

The spokesman of the command, ASP Ahmed Rufai, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, December 9, 2024, said three vehicles were recovered from the suspects. 

 

“On the 05/12/2024 at about 0600hrs a Complaint of car theft was reported by one Adamu Muhammad and Kabiru Shehu all ‘M’ of Badon Barade Area Sokoto that on the same date at about 0400hrs their Motor vehicles Corolla LE Ash colour and Pontiac Vibe were stolen,” the statement read. 

 

“On receipt of the information Policemen attached of Striking Force Unit of the Command swift into action and alerted the Police check point along Birnin-Kebbi Road where one of the Stolen vehicles was found driven by one of the Suspects at Bodinga town heading to Birnin-Kebbi road.” 

 

The statement also said that the command under the leadership of CP Ahmed Musa urges members of the public to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity promptly to the nearest Police formation or through the Command Emergency GSM phone number: 08032345167.
