LaLiga: Real Madrid submit documents to strip Barça of titles, remove them from Europe

Real Madrid has formally requested that FC Barcelona be stripped of titles won during the period from 2001 to 2018 amid an ongoing investigation by UEFA into allegations associated with the Negreira case.
According to the Spanish newspaper Diario AS, Real Madrid submitted a comprehensive package of documentation to UEFA that includes approximately 50,000 pages of materials. These documents reportedly consist of various forms of evidence and statements from multiple individuals. UEFA has already launched a disciplinary investigation into the Negreira case.
The investigation centers on Barcelona’s €8.4 million payment to José María Enríquez Negreira, who held the position of vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees from 2001 to 2018. The case first came to public attention in April 2023, with UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin characterizing the allegations as among the most serious in the history of football.
After a prolonged three-and-a-half-year period marked by judicial delays, Real Madrid has intensified its efforts in this matter. UEFA is currently in the process of reviewing the materials provided by Real Madrid.
In addition to the request for the revocation of titles, Real Madrid hopes to prompt UEFA to consider the possibility of excluding Barcelona from future European competitions under Article 4 of UEFA’s regulatory framework.
