Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has recognized Pep Guardiola as the best football manager in the world. He also named Manchester City as the preeminent team in Premier League history.
Arteta’s remarks came during a post-match interview after Arsenal secured a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League campaign on Sunday.
“We had to raise our level because you have opposition who are constantly asking that question of you,” Arteta said. “In my opinion, we had the best team in the history of this competition, pushing us. In Pep, he is by far the best manager in the world.”
He emphasized the unity of his team, stating, “To do it with those circumstances and in the manner we did it, it is all about the ‘we’ in this team. I loved every minute of it.”
