Young Politician Killed in Suspected Assassination in Rivers State
Ebubu, Rivers State – Samuel Obe Ngobe, a young politician and community mobilizer, was shot and killed by unidentified gunmen in what authorities suspect to be an assassination. The incident occurred on May 22 at a hotel owned by Ngobe in the Eleme Local Government Area.
According to reports, two masked assailants arrived on a motorbike and immediately targeted Ngobe, opening fire on him in the hotel. Witnesses alleged that the gunmen also stole cell phones from hotel staff to prevent any alarms from being raised.
Agabe Blessing Kaborlo, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Command, confirmed the incident on Monday, stating that an investigation is underway.
