Ogun: FRSC deploys 32 patrol vehicles, ambulances, tow trucks ahead of Sallah celebration

FRSC Enhances Traffic Safety Measures for Sallah Festival in Ogun State

In an effort to minimize road traffic crashes and facilitate smooth travel during the Sallah festive period, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun State Sector Command has ramped up its operational activities across the region.

The command has deployed 32 patrol vehicles, six motorcycles, three ambulances, and two tow trucks to key roadways throughout the state, according to a report from DAILY POST.

Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, in a statement released on Monday by the command’s spokesperson, Odunsi Afolabi, emphasized that this deployment aims to increase visibility on the roads, ensure prompt rescue services, manage traffic control, and enforce traffic regulations during the festive season.

Ogunjobi urged the public to exercise caution and take responsibility for their safety by refraining from reckless behaviors, such as dangerous overtaking, overloading, speeding, and the use of mobile phones while driving. He stressed that driving under the influence of alcohol and other traffic violations significantly contribute to accidents.

“Speeding beyond the approved limits remains one of the leading causes of road crashes,” Ogunjobi said, warning that any driver who violates traffic laws would face arrest and prosecution.

“As we celebrate Sallah, I encourage all motorists to prioritize safety. Avoid speeding and dangerous driving, and comply with traffic rules while cooperating with officers stationed on the highways,” he added.

Ogunjobi reiterated that road safety is a collective responsibility, calling for patience and discipline among all road users. He also appealed to transport unions, fleet operators, and passengers to support the Corps in achieving a crash-free festive period.
