‘Music industry very wicked’ – Blaqbonez

Nigerian Rapper Blaqbonez Criticizes Music Industry for Lack of Support
Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, known as Blaqbonez, recently expressed his discontent with the music industry, labeling it as “very wicked.” He voiced concerns regarding the prevalent egos and inadequate support among musicians.
In a post on social media platform X, Blaqbonez highlighted his practice of promoting his peers’ music but noted that many do not reciprocate when he releases new material. “Since I dropped ‘Chanel,’ none of my peers have posted it,” he wrote. He mentioned several prominent artists, stating, “I supported you when you dropped, but when I put out the biggest song of the summer, it’s crickets—the double standards.”
This is not the first instance in which Blaqbonez has raised issues within the industry. Earlier this year, he accused some colleagues of employing streaming farms to artificially inflate music streams and manipulate charts. Despite denials from music executive Don Jazzy, rapper Odumodublvck, and others regarding these allegations, Blaqbonez maintained that stream farming poses significant threats to the integrity of the Nigerian music scene. He asserts that it has caused “irreversible damage” to the industry.
