Thieves Target Numan Campus Hostel, Students Report Loss of Valuables
Thieves armed with firearms and bladed weapons broke into the female hostel at the Numan Campus of Adamawa State Polytechnic early Wednesday morning, stealing 15 mobile phones and other valuables from students.
Witnesses reported that several students who resisted the theft sustained injuries, with one reportedly fainting due to the trauma of the incident. The assault occurred as many students were preparing for the upcoming Sallah celebration.
In the aftermath, students expressed their concerns about inadequate security on campus and criticized school authorities for perceived negligence in protecting their safety.
The Numan Campus is the second-largest site of the Adamawa State Polytechnic, following the main campus located in Jimeta, Yola.
Albert Matila, the Information Officer for the polytechnic, confirmed the incident and stated that campus management plans to visit the affected hostel to assess the situation.
