Enyimba Midfielder Reflects on Challenging Season, Eyes Improvement Ahead

Enyimba FC midfielder Chinedu Ufere acknowledged the difficulties faced during the 2025-26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, which culminated in the team narrowly avoiding relegation on the final matchday.

“We never planned to battle against relegation,” Ufere stated on the club’s official website. He expressed gratitude for the collective effort of the team, including coaches, staff, players, and fans, which he credited for the club’s perseverance throughout the season.

“It was a challenging season because at some point it seemed like the club was going down,” Ufere said. Despite the adversity, he emphasized the commitment exhibited by the team. “This was not the season we planned for, and this isn’t where we expected to end, but that’s football—anything can happen.”

Ufere commended his teammates for their dedication amid the challenges. “Sometimes, it’s like that—you’ll see a big team falling. After the ups and downs, we came out stronger,” he noted.

Looking ahead, Ufere remains optimistic about the upcoming season, stating, “We believe next season will be better, far better than this season.”
