Super Eagles Coach Confirms Key Player Absences for Upcoming Friendlies
Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle announced that Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman will not participate in the national team’s upcoming friendlies against Poland and Portugal.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to face Poland in Warsaw on Wednesday and will then travel to Leiria to compete against Portugal on June 10.

Despite being included in the squad two weeks ago, Chelle explained the reasons for their absence. Atletico Madrid requested Lookman’s excusal from the lineup, while Osimhen is currently addressing transfer discussions with Galatasaray.
“We miss two players because Victor Osimhen is possibly changing clubs, so I prefer he stays at home,” Chelle said. “If he plays and is not at 100 percent, that is not good for us. Ademola is very tired, and Atletico has asked us to excuse him.”
