AFCON 2027Q: Super Eagles hit training ground ahead of Madagascar showdown
The Super Eagles commenced their preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Madagascar with their first training session on Tuesday night. The session took place at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
A total of 23 players participated in the training, which allowed media and the public to observe the first 15 minutes.
Team captain Wilfred Ndidi, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, and winger Samuel Chukwueze joined the squad just hours before the session began.
Maduka Okoye, the Udinese goalkeeper, is anticipated to arrive at the team’s base at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Ikot Ekpene on Wednesday.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to continue their training with another session on Wednesday as they prepare for the encounter with the Barea of Madagascar.
