I’m deeply disturbed – Kwankwaso demands urgent rescue of abducted Oyo students

Former Kano Governor Calls for Urgent Action on Kidnapped Students

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State and 2023 presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has raised alarms regarding the ongoing captivity of students and teachers kidnapped from schools in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In a statement shared on his social media account on Monday, Kwankwaso described the situation as deeply concerning. He emphasized that those abducted have endured prolonged captivity and were unable to observe recent celebrations with their families.

Kwankwaso urged government officials to prioritize the rescue of the victims and implement effective measures to prevent future abductions. He highlighted the urgent need for Nigeria to address its security issues and reaffirmed the importance of safeguarding human life.

“I am deeply disturbed by the ongoing plight of the abducted students and teachers, kidnapped from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State,” Kwankwaso stated.

He noted the significant hardships faced by the victims, who have missed meaningful moments with loved ones during their captivity.

“It is imperative that the government treats their rescue as a matter of urgent priority, while taking decisive steps to prevent such incidents from recurring. Nigeria must break free from the chains of insecurity. The dignity and sanctity of every human life must be protected,” he added.
