Nigerian Police Arrest Three Security Officers in Death Investigation

The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended three officers from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), specifically from the Mining Marshals Unit, in connection with the death of their senior colleague, Agada Levi Agada. The incident occurred during an operation in Nasarawa State.

The police stated that the Force Intelligence Department initiated an investigation into Agada’s death following a petition submitted by the family’s attorney.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Simeon Yakubu Anyebe, Ibrahim Ayefu, and Iwodi Obochi.

Agada was reported to have sustained fatal injuries during a duty operation at Rafin Gabas in the Agwada area of Nasarawa State.

In a related development, authorities revealed they had traced over N2 billion in transactions linked to a bank account belonging to an NSCDC Mining Marshal. Investigators are currently working to understand the nature of these transactions and any potential connections to additional suspects.

Several personnel from the Mining Marshals Unit have been called in for questioning but have reportedly failed to appear.

“We traced over N2 billion into the Zenith Bank account of Sergeant Labaran. We have documented the transfer and receipt of significant amounts from his account to and from those of other suspects,” police officials commented.
