NSCDC arrests guest house manager over alleged N12.5m fraud in Ondo

Ondo NSCDC Arrests Suspected Fraudster in N12.5 Million Scheme
The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended a suspect linked to a fraudulent scheme involving the misappropriation of N12.5 million.
According to a statement from SC Daniel Aidamenbor, Public Relations Officer for the Ondo State NSCDC, the arrest was made following a report lodged by Mrs. Linda John, owner of Remmy Guest House in Alagbaka, Akure. She accused Akinsanmi Olawale, a 32-year-old employee and manager of the guest house, of engaging in fraudulent activities.
The arrest took place on May 18, 2026. An investigation revealed that Olawale was unable to account for revenue generated by the guest house over a two-year period from 2024 to 2026.
Authorities discovered that he had allegedly manipulated and falsified the financial records of the establishment, presenting inaccurate accounts to obscure the misappropriation of funds.
The suspect has reportedly confessed to the crime, and he will face charges in court following the completion of the investigation. The NSCDC reiterated its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy towards crime and criminality.
