‘My life in danger’ – Nasarawa LP factional chairman cries out

Labour Party Chairman in Nasarawa State Claims Threats to His Life
LAFIA, Nigeria — Alexander Ombugu, a factional chairman of the Labour Party in Nasarawa State, has reported that he is facing threats to his life. In a statement to reporters on Saturday, Ombugu expressed concern over his safety and urged local authorities to provide him with protection.
Ombugu suggested that the threats could be linked to his stance on issues stemming from the party’s recent primary elections. He refrained from naming those he suspects are behind the threats, stating that such information would be better directed to law enforcement to maintain the integrity of any investigation.
The chairman made a heartfelt plea for adequate security measures and a thorough inquiry into the matter. He shared that his wife had recently returned home distressed, having heard rumors of an impending attack against him.
Despite the turmoil, Ombugu maintains that he has conducted himself honorably since his entry into politics, adhering to the principles of the Labour Party and the laws of Nigeria.
“I have not done anything wrong to anyone,” Ombugu said. “I appeal to the security agencies for proper coverage and an investigation so that my life can be protected.”
