EPL: This striker won’t make it at Man Utd – What Cristiano Ronaldo told Dalot

Diogo Dalot Reflects on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Insight at Manchester United

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has shared an anecdote involving Cristiano Ronaldo, who indicated that a teammate at Old Trafford lacked the passion to succeed at the club.

In a recent piece for the Players’ Tribune published Friday, Dalot discussed his time playing alongside the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who made a high-profile return to Manchester United before departing in December 2022 after a disagreement with then-manager Erik ten Hag.

Dalot described his experience with Ronaldo as instrumental to his personal and professional growth. “That season with Cristiano was when I really started to grow as a player and as a person,” he said. “I lost count of the number of predictions he got right, because he knows so well what it takes to go to the top.”

He also noted Ronaldo’s keen ability to observe the team’s dynamics, saying, “If anyone skipped a set in the gym, he would notice.” Dalot recalled a specific instance where Ronaldo expressed skepticism about a striker’s long-term potential at United, saying, “He’s not gonna make it here.”

This insight sheds light on Ronaldo’s influence within the club during his second stint, emphasizing the high standards he set for his teammates.
