Kebbi Police Arrest Seven Suspected Bandits Linked to Recent Killings
KEBBI, Nigeria — The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested seven individuals suspected of involvement in various criminal activities, including the recent killing of three personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the Bagudo Local Government area.
According to police spokesperson SP Bashir Usman, the arrests occurred during intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks within the vicinity of the Soda Forest and surrounding border communities.
Three suspects were apprehended along the Illo–Lolo road while reportedly traveling on a motorcycle from Soda Forest toward nearby settlements. The detained individuals have been identified as Muhammadu Bande, Aliyu Abubakar, and Muhammadu Aliyu. Initial investigations suggest that they were allegedly transporting food supplies intended for armed groups residing in forest hideouts.
In a related operation along the Bakin Ruwa–Ka’oje axis, four additional suspects—Haruna Abubakar, Abubakar Lawali, Anme Shehu, and Yahaya Shehu—were also arrested as part of ongoing efforts to clear the area of criminal activity.
The police are continuing their investigations to ascertain the suspects’ involvement in the recent attacks, particularly the murders of the three FRSC officers. All suspects remain in custody and will face charges upon the completion of investigations.
Commissioner of Police Umar Hadejia commended the operatives for their efforts and expressed gratitude to local residents for the valuable intelligence that facilitated these operations.
