Senator Abba Moro mourns beheaded health worker, others killed in Apa attack

Senator Abba Moro Expresses Condolences Following Apa Local Government Attack
Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro, who represents the Benue South Senatorial District, has expressed his sorrow over the recent attacks in the Apa Local Government Area, which resulted in the deaths of several residents, including a health worker identified as Ojama Emie.
In a statement released Tuesday through his Media Adviser, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, Moro condemned the violent incidents, describing them as heartbreaking. He specifically highlighted the brutal killing of Ojama, who was ambushed and beheaded by armed assailants along the Ikobi-Olegogba road. Additional casualties were reported among other residents during the attack.
Moro voiced concerns regarding the declining security situation in Benue South, asserting that communities in the district are facing ongoing threats from armed groups. He questioned the effectiveness of security measures in place despite the visible presence of law enforcement agencies.
The senator called for immediate action from the Benue State Government and relevant security forces to address the escalating violence. He emphasized the need for a renewed focus on the protection of lives and property.
Moro extended his solidarity to the people of Ikobi and the broader Apa Local Government Area during this challenging time. He urged government officials at all levels to ensure that residents can live without fear, sleep safely in their homes, and pursue their daily activities unhindered.
The senator also offered his condolences to the family of Ojama Emie and the other victims, praying for their peaceful repose.
