Yobe State Appoints New Emir of Ngazargamu

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has officially appointed Alhaji Yerima Ibn Mahmud as the new Emir of Ngazargamu, as announced in a statement on Friday by the Acting Secretary to the State Government, Mohammed Goje.

This appointment follows the recent death of the former Emir, Alhaji Tijjani Ibn Saleh Geidam, who passed away in Egypt after a prolonged illness. He was laid to rest in Damaturu.

Prior to his new role, Yerima Ibn Mahmud held the traditional title of Turakin Ngazargamu for 16 years. His experience includes serving as a member of the Yobe State House of Assembly, as well as various positions on the State Executive Council, including Commissioner for Livestock Development.

In his message to the new Emir and the Ngazargamu Emirate, Governor Buni expressed his congratulations and highlighted the importance of unity, peace, and economic development. He urged the Emir to leverage his experience in fostering collaboration among the community and promoting stability within Yobe State and Nigeria as a whole.

The Governor also called on the residents to support the new Emir in his efforts to serve effectively, ensuring the welfare and prosperity of the emirate.
