El-Rufai Appears in Court for Corruption Trial
KADUNA, Nigeria — Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai appeared at the Federal High Court on Monday for the continuation of his corruption trial.
Accompanied by officials from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), as well as personnel from the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force, El-Rufai arrived at the court in the state capital.
The case against him involves allegations of abuse of office, fraud, and financial misconduct linked to his tenure as governor. Prosecutors claim that funds were improperly disbursed for projects that were either not completed or mismanaged.
El-Rufai has consistently denied all charges, asserting his innocence.
During Monday’s proceedings, the court is expected to hear motions and arguments from both the prosecution and the defense as the trial progresses.
