Ondo Woman Arraigned After Alleged Machete Attack on Husband

A married woman has been arraigned by the Ondo State Police Command following an alleged machete attack on her husband, which resulted in severe injuries to his left hand.

According to police spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on June 2, 2026, during a domestic dispute between the couple. The victim, identified as Olatunde Julius, was reportedly assaulted with a machete, suffering serious injuries in the process.

Following the attack, Julius was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Medical professionals assessed his condition and provided a report to assist the police investigation.

After concluding their inquiry, the police established a prima facie case against the woman and subsequently charged her in court, initiating legal proceedings.

Jimoh emphasized the Ondo State Police Command’s commitment to addressing domestic violence, underlining its threat to public safety and individual lives. He urged the public to report incidents of domestic abuse to security agencies to facilitate prompt intervention and prevent further harm.
