Transfer: Chelsea close on second summer sale

Chelsea Football Club is reportedly close to completing its second summer transfer after the recent sale of Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid.

According to Standard Sport, West Bromwich Albion is making significant progress in negotiations to acquire Chelsea striker Jimmy-Jay Morgan on a permanent basis.

The Blues are seeking a fee between £1 million and £1.5 million for the England youth international, in addition to a substantial sell-on clause, as they anticipate his success in the English Championship.

The 20-year-old forward joined Chelsea from Southampton for £3 million in February 2023 when he was 17 years old. Despite his prolific performance in the Under-21 team, where he scored 21 goals in 46 appearances, Morgan has yet to make his senior debut for the club.
