Release kidnapped pregnant woman in two hours – Sunday Igboho to Fulani leaders

Yoruba Nation Activist Demands Release of Kidnapped Pregnant Woman

YORUBA, Nigeria — Sunday Igboho, a prominent activist for the Yoruba Nation, has issued a two-hour ultimatum to Fulani leaders to release the body of a pregnant woman recently kidnapped in Oyo State.

The incident occurred in the Igboho area, where suspected Fulani gunmen abducted the pregnant woman and her sibling during the night. Initial ransom demands from the kidnappers started at 300 million naira but were later reduced to 150 million naira.

Igboho condemned the kidnapping and stated that the ransom should be borne by the Fulani leaders in the community, asserting that the victims’ families should not be responsible for the payment.

Addressing the Fulani leaders, Igboho emphasized his roots in Igboho, saying, “You can’t be kidnapping in my father’s land and expect me to keep quiet.” He expressed outrage over the kidnapping and the subsequent killing of the woman and the individual who attempted to pay the ransom.

“This should be the last, and it must end,” he declared. Igboho expressed that the kidnappings targeting the Yoruba people must stop, insisting that Fulani individuals have not faced similar abductions in the area.

He further demanded the immediate release of all kidnapped individuals, stating, “I give you people two hours to release the woman, her children, and her sibling who were kidnapped.”

Igboho indicated that they had traced the kidnappers’ activities, claiming they had moved the victims to various locations within the community.

He concluded his address by reiterating that the Yoruba people are not financially able to meet the ransom demands, urging the Fulani community to gather the necessary funds instead.

If the victims are not released within the given timeframe, Igboho warned that it would escalate tensions between the groups.
