Bauchi Gov’s son begs father to pay retirees gratuities

Bauchi Governor’s Son Urges Payment of Gratuities to Retirees
Bauchi—Shamsuddeen Bala Mohammed, son of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, is calling on his father to enhance efforts to disburse outstanding gratuities to retirees in the state. He made his appeal in a Facebook post titled “Bridging the Gap: A Call for a Human-Capital Focused Policy.”
In his post, Shamsuddeen acknowledged the achievements of the governor’s administration, particularly in infrastructure development over the past seven years. He noted that significant improvements in roads, schools, and hospitals have reshaped Bauchi State and would leave a lasting impact for future generations.
However, he highlighted the struggles faced by families of retirees from the state civil service who are still awaiting their gratuities. He emphasized that the delay in payments has exacerbated the financial difficulties experienced by many households.
“The prevailing sentiment on the ground is that while infrastructure is vital, it does not alleviate the immediate economic hardship, the struggle for daily sustenance, or the pain of families still awaiting civil service gratuities,” he said. He stressed the importance of prioritizing the payment of retirees’ dues.
