Nigerian Activist Charly Boy Admits Past Criminal Activities in U.S.

Nigerian activist and entertainer Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, acknowledged his involvement in criminal activities during his youth in the United States.

In an interview on Friday on Arise Television’s “Prime Time,” Charly Boy reflected on his past decisions and expressed regret over his actions.

“I’ve made mistakes in my life. I’ve been a thief. I’ve done very risky things, very foolish things,” he stated. “In fact, I have no business being here with you tonight, but I guess there’s a purpose for my life.”

Charly Boy revealed that his time in America was marked by reckless behavior, including participation in financial crimes at the age of 25. “I was doing white-collar crime when I was in America. I was doing a lot of stupid stuff. That’s why I say I’ve been there,” he added.

The outspoken social commentator emphasized the importance of acknowledging his past, stating that he chose to document his experiences in his memoir. He intends to illustrate his journey from rebellion and mistakes to transformation and self-discovery.
