APC releases timetable for Delta, Kogi, others’ primaries

APC Announces Schedule for Primary Elections in Restored Constituencies
ABUJA — The All Progressives Congress (APC) has published its timetable for the primary elections in preparation for the 2026 legislative bye-elections and the elections for four State House of Assembly constituencies recently reinstated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the party, INEC has reinstated four previously suppressed constituencies located in Delta and Kogi states. This decision necessitates the holding of primary elections to nominate candidates for these constituencies.
The constituencies that have been restored include Abraka, Isoko North II, and Ughelli South II in Delta State, along with Yagba West II in Kogi State.
In addition, the APC plans to conduct primary elections for candidates vying in the 2026 legislative bye-elections across Gombe, Bauchi, Delta, and Kano states. The affected constituencies include Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe, Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies in Bauchi, Udu State Constituency in Delta, and Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano.
The party has directed its state chapters in these regions to follow the newly released timetable and schedule of activities for the primary elections. The timetable aims to guide the nomination and selection process for candidates representing the restored constituencies and participating in the legislative bye-elections.
The APC has called on all stakeholders, including aspirants, state chapters, and party members, to adhere to the guidelines and timelines outlined for this electoral exercise. This development follows INEC’s decision to restore the four suppressed constituencies and the preparations for the upcoming legislative bye-elections in the affected states.
