Gunmen Kill Community Leader, Woman in Plateau State Attacks

BARKIN LADI, Nigeria — A 58-year-old community leader, Daniel Pulle, and Deborah Benjamin Kak were killed in separate attacks by gunmen suspected to be affiliated with Fulani terrorists on Sunday evening in Plateau State.

Rwang Tengwong, the National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth-Moulders Association (BYM), reported that Pulle was ambushed while returning home on his motorcycle at approximately 7:55 p.m. He was shot near a bridge leading to his community in Gana-Ropp, located in the Ropp District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

In a separate incident, Kak was attacked at her home in Lwa village, Bachi District of Riyom Local Government Area. Following the attack, she was taken to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries.

The Berom Youth Moulders Association expressed deep concern over the ongoing violence in affected communities, calling for enhanced security measures to protect residents and prevent further attacks.

Conflict journalist Kim Masara Usman confirmed the incidents in a post on social media, emphasizing the tragic nature of Pulle’s death. He described Pulle as a peaceful man who was shot close to his home.

The recent incidents have heightened worries among residents regarding safety and security in the region.
