NDLEA arrests Lagos socialite KC Luxury, seizes cocaine worth N39bn

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Afolabi Kazeem, a Lagos-based socialite known as KC Luxury, in connection with a significant cocaine seizure. The agency reports that Kazeem was apprehended at Murtala Muhammed International Airport on August 13 while allegedly attempting to flee Nigeria for Paris with a shipment of 184.5 kilograms of cocaine, valued at approximately 39 billion naira.
NDLEA Chairman Buba Marwa announced the arrest during a press briefing on Tuesday, stating that Kazeem was taken into custody alongside Lawal Kehinde, an employee of a logistics company. This operation marks the largest cocaine seizure from a courier service in the agency’s history.
Marwa noted that Kazeem was found in possession of expensive jewelry, as well as 100,000 naira, £2,800, and €7,750. Further investigations revealed a collection of luxury vehicles at Kazeem’s residence in Banana Island, Ikoyi.
“This cartel leader did not walk into our custody voluntarily; he intended to flee the country on a business class flight to Paris,” Marwa said. “Our operatives apprehended him at the boarding gate just as he attempted to escape the reach of the law.”
This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by the NDLEA to combat drug trafficking in Nigeria.
