Delta State Governor Resolves Strike at DELSUTH

Asaba, Nigeria – Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori successfully resolved an industrial dispute at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH) in Oghara, leading to the suspension of a strike by hospital workers.

The resolution followed a closed-door meeting held on Monday at the Government House in Asaba. During this meeting, the governor addressed the concerns that had prompted the industrial action.

Professor Harrison Abedi, the Chief Medical Director of DELSUTH, reported that the governor’s intervention effectively addressed the workers’ grievances. This development has paved the way for the resumption of services at the hospital.

Additionally, Governor Oborevwori has directed immediate measures to restore a stable electricity supply to DELSUTH. Work is already underway to connect the facility to a dedicated 33kVA power line.

The governor also announced plans to revamp the teaching hospital as part of broader efforts to enhance healthcare delivery and create a more conducive working environment for medical staff.

With the strike suspended, normal operations at the hospital are expected to resume shortly, bringing relief to patients and residents who depend on the facility for specialized medical services.
