Join street-begging instead of dating for money – Emeka Ike advises ladies
Nollywood Actor Emeka Ike Critiques Financially Motivated Relationships
Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has labeled relationships pursued primarily for financial gain as a “romantic scam.”
In a recent interview with BBC Pidgin, Ike asserted that some women enter into partnerships with the primary intention of extracting funds from their partners, equating this behavior to fraud.
Ike suggested that women who seek monetary benefits through dating should consider alternative means, such as street begging, rather than deceiving men in romantic contexts.
“Love and marriage are not scams,” Ike stated. “However, there are individuals who exploit relationships as a means of support; that is where it becomes fraudulent.”
He emphasized the beauty of genuine affection, saying, “If you find someone who truly cares for you, it’s a wonderful experience. But when feelings are masked to achieve a hidden agenda, that’s a scam.”
The actor further criticized the trend of women entering relationships solely to benefit financially, urging them to refrain from misleading men. “Relationships should be sacred. Love is the foundation of any meaningful partnership. We must stop damaging it in Nigeria and pretending to be in love for financial gain. Relationships should not serve as a source of income,” he concluded.
