Delta court sends 54-year-old man to prison for defiling stepdaughter
A Delta State High Court in Isiokolo has sentenced 54-year-old Samson Nagboje to 20 years in prison for unlawfully engaging in sexual activity with his four-year-old stepdaughter, whose name has not been disclosed.
The ruling was delivered by Hon. Justice O. Aforkeya after the court found Nagboje guilty of the crime. Assistant Director at the Delta State Ministry of Justice, Miss Phoebian Onomakpome, led the prosecution.
The offense occurred on May 14, 2020, at Eloh Compound in Ovu, located within the Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State. The prosecution highlighted that Nagboje’s actions violated state laws concerning sexual offenses.
Following the incident, Nagboje was arrested by law enforcement and subsequently arraigned on June 8, 2020. After a thorough trial, the court concluded with a conviction and the imposition of a 20-year prison sentence.
