Super Falcons Coach Prepares for Challenge in Women’s Africa Cup of Nations
Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu emphasized the need for his team to be ready for intense competition at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament, which began on Sunday in Morocco, presents a significant opportunity for the Super Falcons to extend their record with a 12th title.
The Nigerian team will kick off their campaign against Malawi’s Scorchers at Al Madina Stadium in Rabat on Tuesday. Madugu understands that other nations will be motivated to dethrone the reigning champions.
“Now that we are champions, every other team will want to draw you down,” Madugu said in a statement to BBC Sport. He acknowledged the challenges ahead, stating, “It’s not going to be easy. We are quite aware of that and we are going to be fully ready.”
