10-Year-Old Boy Abducted in Yobe State; Ransom Demanded
Tarmuwa Local Government Area, Yobe State — A 10-year-old boy was abducted from his family home in Andarashi village on July 25, prompting demands for ransom from the kidnappers.
The incident was reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama, stating that the attack occurred around 5:20 p.m. when four armed men entered the residence of Bukar Umar.
According to Makama, the assailants, armed with bows, arrows, cutlasses, and sticks, forcibly took the boy, identified as Abdullahi Isa, before escaping to an undisclosed location. Following the abduction, the kidnappers contacted the family by phone demanding a ransom for the child’s return.
In response to the incident, police authorities have dispatched operatives to the area. The Officer-in-Charge of the State Investigation Department has been instructed to initiate technical tracking of the telephone number used by the kidnappers.
“The police indicate that efforts are ongoing to rescue the victim unharmed and apprehend those responsible for the abduction,” said the report.
