TikToker Peller Reports Disruptive Incidents During Traditional Wedding

NIGERIA — Content creator Peller alleged multiple disruptive incidents occurred outside the venue of his traditional wedding, overshadowing the celebration taking place inside. During a livestream, he detailed events including phone thefts and a road accident that affected guests arriving for the ceremony.

Peller expressed his desire for his upcoming white wedding to differ from the traditional ceremony due to these troubling occurrences. “My white wedding will not be like the way you all did that day,” he said, referencing a video in which a vehicle struck a guest.

He described a chaotic atmosphere, attributing much of the disruption to individuals he referred to as “agberos,” a term commonly used to describe local hustlers or troublemakers. He claimed these individuals outnumbered the wedding guests, leading to reported thefts. “Agbero don occupy Lagos. There are more agberos outside than guests at my wedding. People came and said their phones were snatched. You know how many phones I had to pay for?” he stated.

Peller specifically mentioned one female guest who allegedly had her phone stolen upon arrival. “One girl, as she reached, they snatched her phone at the gate. They ran away,” he claimed.

Additionally, he recounted hearing about a road accident while inside the hall. “While I was doing my wedding, they told me someone was killed,” he said. He described a situation where a car struck an individual who allegedly refused to move when asked by the driver.

Peller’s remarks reflect concerns about safety and security for both guests and hosts during social events in the region.
