2027: Kwankwasiyya hails resignations, salutes loyalists backing Kwankwaso in Kano

Kwankwasiyya Movement Applauds Resignations in Kano State
The Kwankwasiyya Movement has commended a series of recent political resignations in Kano State, calling the actions a significant demonstration of courage and loyalty to its leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. This response comes amid escalating tensions with the Gandujiyya-led state government.
In a statement released Monday, spokesperson Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed expressed “profound appreciation and heartfelt gratitude” to the political appointees who voluntarily resigned in support of Kwankwaso and the principles of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.
Those recognized include former commissioners, special advisers, and various other appointees who, according to the movement, prioritized personal conviction over comfort in their decision to step down.
“They chose the path of honour over convenience,” the statement read, highlighting that these officials’ choices demonstrate integrity and dedication to public service.
Kwankwaso had reportedly encouraged the departing officials to reconsider their resignations, appreciating their contributions to governance and institutional integrity. However, they remained firm in their stance, citing conflicts between their principles and the directives of the current administration.
The Kwankwasiyya Movement also acknowledged the loyalty of the Deputy Governor and elected officials at the federal, state, and local levels, despite what it described as “numerous inducements and sustained pressure” from various authorities.
The statement specifically recognized members of the Senate, House of Representatives, Kano State House of Assembly, and local councillors for their commitment to the mandates given by voters.
“Your firmness reinforces public confidence in representative democracy and principled leadership,” the movement emphasized.
Additionally, the movement praised grassroots officials, including council secretaries and supervisory councillors, who resigned from local government councils, commending their commitment to justice and fairness.
Dr. Mohammed reiterated that Kwankwasiyya is founded on principles of sacrifice, service, and the pursuit of good governance rather than on positions of privilege. He expressed confidence that “history will be kind to all those who stood firm at this defining moment.”
The movement urged those still in office under special assignments to uphold professionalism and restraint, cautioning against actions that might intimidate or undermine Kwankwaso or the movement.
Reassuring its supporters, the Kwankwasiyya Movement stated it remains united and resilient in the face of political pressure. “No amount of intimidation or inducement can derail a movement rooted in the will and aspirations of the people,” the statement concluded.
This development occurs amid a shifting political landscape in Kano, with Kwankwaso’s influence continuing to affect opposition dynamics within the state’s governance structure.
