Nobody can beat me in transparent election – Davido boasts

Davido Declines Political Aspirations Due to Corruption in Elections
Famous Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, stated during a recent livestream that he believes he would be unbeatable in a fair election if he chose to run for political office in Nigeria. However, he expressed his lack of interest in pursuing any elective position, citing the prevailing corruption within the country’s electoral processes and institutions.
In discussion with streamer Cater Efe, Davido emphasized his commitment to music until there is greater electoral transparency in Nigeria. When asked if he would like to govern a state, Davido responded, “Nigeria where they write results? I don’t have time for that.” He remarked that he would prefer to stay out of a system he believes is rigged against fair competition.
Davido asserted that in a transparent electoral environment, he could potentially succeed in a presidential race. “Nobody can beat me in any election, never!” he declared. However, he underscored his frustration with the current system, highlighting concerns about the integrity of upcoming elections, including the Osun gubernatorial race, which he described as a source of concern among the populace.
