‘Jude is holding my 20% of P-Square share’ – Henry Okoye breaks silence [Video]

Family Feud Erupts Over P-Square Royalties

Henry Okoye, the elder brother of Jude Okoye, has accused his sibling of withholding royalties from the music group P-Square.

This allegation emerged during discussions about the ongoing family feud surrounding P-Square, which consists of members Paul and Peter Okoye, Henry’s younger brothers. The conflict gained public attention when Peter Okoye accused Jude and Paul of misappropriating the group’s royalties.

Peter also leveled accusations of betrayal and mistreatment against Jude and Paul. In response, Jude denied the allegations and sought legal action against Peter to prevent him from performing P-Square songs.

In recent weeks, a notable number of Nigerians, including various celebrities, have publicly sided with Peter, voicing support for his solo music endeavors while casting Jude in a negative light. Some individuals have even referred to Jude as “Judas Iscariot” in reference to the biblical figure associated with betrayal.

In his first public interview addressing the controversy, Henry Okoye claimed that Jude failed to provide him with his promised 20 percent share of the royalties, which he maintained was part of an agreement due to his role as a sponsor during the group’s early years.

Henry asserted that their mother had initially opposed placing Jude in a managerial role, citing concerns about his character. He noted that their brother Tony Okoye, who also had a connection to the group, ultimately persuaded their mother to support Jude’s appointment.

“Before they started, Paul and Peter promised me 20 percent of each of their songs’ royalties,” Henry stated. He further explained his financial contributions to the group’s initial success.

When questioned about the receipt of these funds, Henry disclosed that he had not received any payments. “After two or three years, I asked them why I had not been seeing the agreed 20 percent. That’s when Jude raised questions about my request,” he remarked.

Henry went on to express that he felt sidelined since Jude joined, emphasizing that he played a crucial role in P-Square’s inception. He also mentioned other family members, including their sibling Tony, who he claimed had not received support from Jude or P-Square.
