Lawmaker escapes death as convoy crashes on Ondo-Ore highway

Lawmaker Escapes Serious Injury in Highway Accident

Donald Ojogo, the representative for the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, narrowly avoided serious injury over the weekend following a highway accident involving his convoy. The incident occurred along the busy Ore-Ondo highway when a commercial bus driver recklessly overtook Ojogo’s vehicle, resulting in a collision with an oncoming car.

Ojogo, who recently secured another term in the National Assembly as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was en route to Arogbo for a political engagement at the time of the accident. Although he did not sustain major injuries, several members of his entourage were affected.

In a statement expressing gratitude for his survival and that of his team, Ojogo attributed their safety to divine intervention. He emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “God took perfect control of the situation and prevented what could have turned into a tragic incident.”

Ojogo criticized the commercial bus driver for reckless driving and impatience, and confirmed that those injured in the accident were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
