Bandit leader, Kachalla Muhammadu’s lieutenant Biliya reportedly dead
Bandits in Katsina State have reportedly confirmed the death of Biliya, a senior lieutenant to the notorious bandit leader Kachalla Muhammadu, following an operation by security forces in the Matazu area.
Security analysts from Zagazola Makama reported on Saturday, August 15, 2026, that the information was obtained from intercepted communications between two suspected bandit associates, identified as Mamiyo and Juli Asso Maha. The conversation, monitored around 11:34 p.m., revealed inquiries about Biliya’s whereabouts.
Mamiyo, who was said to have returned from a location connected to Kachalla Muhammadu, shared that Biliya and his gang had attempted an operation in the northern part of the Matazu area. The report indicated that the group had entered an undisclosed town and left Biliya behind in a shop before they were confronted by security forces.
Mamiyo confirmed Biliya’s death upon the group’s return to Kachalla Muhammadu’s location. During the conversation, Mamiyo stated, “Biliya and members of his gang had embarked on an operation towards the northern part of their location in the Matazu axis.” The revelation reportedly frustrated members of the gang, with Juli expressing anger over the loss.
As of this report, authorities have not issued any official confirmation regarding Biliya’s death.
