Tear gas was deployed by police during a memorial event in Lagos on Tuesday, disrupting a gathering attended by gubernatorial candidates for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Rhodes-Vivour and Funso Doherty.
The incident occurred at the Lekki Toll Gate, where the candidates joined others to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the 2020 #EndSARS shootings.
Video footage reviewed by DAILY POST shows police officers using tear gas in an attempt to disperse those gathered to honor the victims of the October 2020 protests.
