Osun election shows Nigerians can still decide who governs them – Seriake Dickson

NDC Leader Declares Victory Significant for Nigerian Democracy
The national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, emphasized the implications of the recent Osun State governorship election, asserting that the results demonstrate Nigerians’ ability to choose their leaders.
In a statement shared on his verified social media account on Sunday, Dickson congratulated Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as governor. He described the victory as pivotal not only for Adeleke and the people of Osun State but also for the broader context of Nigeria’s democratic process.
“This victory is a reminder that, even in an increasingly challenging political environment, the people can still assert their democratic will through the ballot,” Dickson stated.
He extended his congratulations to Adeleke, saying, “I commend the people of Osun State for standing firm in defense of their democratic choice.” Dickson also urged candidates who were defeated in the election to collaborate with Adeleke in a spirit of sportsmanship, focusing on the peace and development of Osun State.
