‘How fake Made-in-Nigeria Agency tricked us’ – Anambra govt

The Anambra State Government plans to host a fair in partnership with an agency recently identified as fraudulent. The agency, which falsely claimed to represent a Made-in-Nigeria initiative, has come under scrutiny after its non-existence was revealed.
Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, the Secretary to the Anambra State Government, confirmed that the agency had misled the state into organizing what was intended to be its inaugural fair, set to take place from December 2 to 5, 2026. Nnake emphasized that her appointment as the state’s Focal Person for the agency had come from Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who nominated her in response to a request from the agency in January 2026.
In a statement, Nnake sought to clarify her role following the circulation of her photograph as a state coordinator for the agency. She explained that after the governor’s nomination, Focal Persons from all 36 states engaged in discussions via a WhatsApp group concerning the agency’s activities.
Recently, the agency requested Anambra to host the South-East Made-in-Nigeria Fair, a proposal that was approved by the state government. An inaugural meeting was convened two weeks ago with the agency’s National Coordinator present.
Nnake stated, “Beyond these official interactions and engagements, I have no knowledge of, involvement in, or connection with any other activities, claims, or developments attributed to the said office.” She reiterated that her involvement is limited to the official communications and preparations related to the upcoming fair, distancing herself from any further associations with the agency.
