Four arrested for allegedly demolishing classroom, selling materials in Kano

The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has detained four individuals in connection with the alleged demolition of a classroom at Unguwa Uku Primary School in the Tarauni Local Government Area.
PCACC Chairman Malam Saidu Yahaya announced that the arrests followed a complaint filed by local residents regarding the destruction of the classroom.
Initial investigations revealed that the school’s head teacher may have collaborated with members of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) and the Education Secretary of Tarauni Local Government Area to demolish the classroom. It is alleged that they sold the classroom’s iron rods and roofing materials without the necessary approvals from appropriate authorities.
Yahaya stated that the four suspects will be charged in court after the investigation concludes. He urged the public to report any instances of vandalism or unlawful disposal of public and community assets, to allow relevant authorities to take action.
